Hotel overview

Set on a charming boat moored in central Amsterdam, this hotel offers a unique stay blending waterside tranquility with city convenience. Guests enjoy cozy, well-kept cabins that maximize space without sacrificing comfort, making it an affordable yet welcoming choice in a lively district. The boat is tucked near vibrant Nieuwmarkt Square, surrounded by diverse eateries including Chinatown, as well as cultural highlights such as the NEMO Science Museum.

Breakfast is served onboard, featuring a variety of breads and options appreciated by many travelers. The intimate setting is run by a hospitable couple attentive to guest needs, contributing to a calm atmosphere away from the bustle. Although cabins are compact, essential amenities are thoughtfully provided, and the absence of on-site dining or fitness means visitors tend to explore nearby attractions or unwind on the upper deck lounge.

This location suits those looking for a quiet retreat close to Amsterdam’s busiest sights, with the city center a short walk away. Proximity to public transport and major train stations further supports easy adventures beyond the immediate neighborhood.

“A quiet, unassuming boat moored right in the centre of Amsterdam, run by a very kind couple: small cabins but with all mod cons: tasty breakfast with many different, tasty kinds of bread. You do have to look carefully for the Sailing Home sign.”

“I stayed here for three nights and had a really nice and comfortable stay. The host is really kind and helpful. The breakfast is also nice. The rooms, although small, are comfy, very clean and the bed was also really comfortable. It is a 10 minute walk away from the center which is perfect. Recommending this to everyone!”

“Amazing stay and big joy to stay with the couple running Botel Sailing Home. Inside you find yourself on a ship that during summer takes 24 passengers into a cruise;) Rooms are cosy, well equipped, warm and clean. Selection of food for breakfast will meet the needs of every guest! Upper deck is a salon with comfy armchairs that just invite to seat and enjoy the views! Service and level of attention to guest needs is simply perfect! Price reasonable, location ideal for any activity, most of attractions can be reached by walking.”

“We stayed here before (few years ago) and we decided to book again as we had a great experience already. The boat is centrally located, walking distance from loads of attractions and transportation links. Very quiet area. The cabins are clean and include all basic toiletries. Breakfast is available on board, which is better than going around to find something decent to eat. Inma, the host is very polite and very helpful. We had a wonderful experience.”
